Review of Vaporesso Armour PRO. Armored Kamikaze

Review of Vaporesso Armour PRO. Armored Kamikaze

This review will focus on the curious single-battery mod Armour PRO from the American-Chinese company Vaporesso on the already familiar OMNI 4.0 board.

Not long ago, we reviewed a device from Vaporesso with a record (so far?) for electronic mods lower resistance threshold of 0.03 Ohm – the dual-battery Polar. Today’s patient entered the market a little earlier, but is no less interesting for several reasons. Firstly, it is single-battery, i.e. more compact, secondly, it uses the same OMNI 4.0 board and has the same “kamikaze mode”, i.e. Super Player, in which this support is enabled, thirdly, this is the company’s first mod that works on the increasingly popular 21700/20700 battery format.

The box mod comes into the buyer’s hands in a small cardboard box with an image of the steel version of the device and the inscription ARMOUR PRO. australian vape shop perth You can find out what color of the box is waiting under the lid on the back side on a separate sticker with a barcode. Here you can also find important and not so important data about the device, a list of the kit, a bunch of familiar icons with warnings and certificates, details and address of the manufacturer. And, of course, the branded Designed in California, Made in China.

The device is available in two versions: a separate box mod and in a kit with a Cascade Baby Sub-Ohm Tank (2/5 ml). In our case, the box contained only a small (0.5 m) branded cable in a rigid braid and a plastic adapter for 18650 batteries. The manual includes a large number of translations, in my case, among others, into Russian. With traditional “Chinese” bloopers: “firing speed of 0.002 s”, “consecutive, intense aromas”, “nicotine containing e-liquid” and other masterpieces. Be sure to read it in your spare time, enrich your vocabulary.

Appearance and design of the Vaporesso Armour PRO

Armour PRO in hand As usual, Vaporesso pays great attention to the appearance of their devices, and this device is no exception. What is especially pleasing is that this time it at least does not look like a mobile phone. And as usual with the manufacturer, there was room for glossy plastic, which is instantly covered with scratches. Almost the entire front part of the device is occupied by the Fire button with a screen hidden under dark plastic. When looking at the Armour PRO, I immediately remember two devices: the iRoar Oceanus and Presa. This is their peculiar hybrid, with an adjustment for the manufacturer’s signature “bells and whistles”: a new OMNI 4.0 board with a record response time, rich functionality and a good color screen. The device turned out to be quite compact (if you remember the rather large 21700 can that can fit inside), but at the same time with a pleasant weight, which my favorite Swag lacks. There are no fastening elements anywhere on the case, the assembly is neat and the mod seems like a solid metal bar in the hand. The only visible gap is between the button and the case, which is there for obvious reasons. In general, you should not pour drippers and burn a coil under the tap.

The entire case is made of metal, in our case it is painted with a red-blue gradient and covered with glossy varnish. The device fits perfectly in the hand and almost completely hides in the palm. At the same time, despite the gloss, it does not tend to slip out. Of the designations, you can find a white inscription on the sides with the name of the device model and a vertical Vaporesso with a logo on the back.

The manufacturer offers a choice of both a separate box mod and a kit with its own Cascade Baby Sub-Ohm Tank on GT evaporators. A total of six color options are available: Black, Silver, Green, Blue, White, Red/Blue (in this review). Some boxes have a glossy finish (our red-blue, green, silver), and some have a matte finish (black, blue, white), if you have the opportunity to “touch” it, be sure to do so before buying.

Impressions and conclusions

dotRDA24 (24 mm) on Armour PRO by VaporessoI have had the device for several days, and I have no complaints about either the operation or the assembly of the Armour PRO. The board works without any freezes or misfires, the response seems instantaneous, you just need to get used to the control of the four buttons and the combinations. As in the case of Polar, I was unable to fully test the Super Player mode (well, I don’t have such a winding, and even if I did, I would hardly risk it with the batteries I have), but the box picks up a dripper with a framed staple coil from Arsenal at 0.05 Ohm quite briskly, and it is quite possible to vape in both the variable wattage and bypass modes. Naturally, before the HIGH TEMPERATURE inscription appears, the board protection is triggered and the “miracle” quickly ends. There are only two nuances that cannot be ignored: the very quickly scratched plastic of the Fire button and the easily opened lid. The device came to me already slightly “used”, and the owner used it quite carefully, but scuffs on the glossy surface appeared almost immediately and their number only increases. On black plastic they are hardly noticeable, but still visible. The battery compartment cover does not cause any special trouble if you forget about it and simply do not touch it – when the screen is under your fingers, it rests against the palm. However, this will not save you from accidentally opening it somewhere in a bag or from a careless movement. It seems to me that the Vaporesso engineers did not think of something, namely with the positive contact spring. At the same time, there are no questions about any of the declared battery formats. Both 20700 and 21700 surprisingly sit inside like native, and with the included adapter, 18650 cans are also suitable. I already wrote about the overloaded OMNI 4.0 menu and my attitude to it in the review of Polar.

Liked:

Appearance

Ergonomic shape

Support for 18650/20700/21700 batteries

Rich functionality of the board (even too much)

Updatable software

High charging current up to 2A

Support for resistance from 0.03 Ohm (Super Player mode)

Full passthrough mode

Varivolt mode (personal like)

Disliked:

Fire button plastic gets scratched very quickly

Overloaded menu

The lid opens easily

Armour PRO by Vaporesso

I will not hide that despite minor flaws, I really liked the Armour PRO. Considering the “omnivorousness” of the box mod in relation to current battery formats and the “track record” of Vaporesso, the device can be safely recommended for purchase.
