Review of Hugo Vapor URUS
Today’s review is dedicated to the latest product from the Chinese company Hugo Vapor – URUS 100W 20700 TC MOD.
The Hugo Vapor company is a rare guest on the pages of our site, its products, although popular among domestic vapers, are noticeably inferior to larger market players. The only thing that comes to mind is a series of various mods from the manufacturer under the general name Boxer, which had one significant drawback among its various advantages – overheating, which users began to complain about after a while. Of course, the company’s history did not end with those same “boxers”, the manufacturer constantly releases new devices and closely monitors trends, not leaving even the topic of konkov without attention, but still lags a little behind the market. Today’s device is just one of those “catch-ups”, this is the first mod from the manufacturer that can work with new battery formats – 20700 and 21700. But in addition to this, it is also interesting in its own way for its other features.
Hugo Vapor URUS packaging
Our device comes in a black box made of thick cardboard with a hinged lid. On top, on the lid itself, there is the URUS logo, on the bottom side there are device specifications, equipment, one sticker with a barcode and a mark indicating the color of the device (many thanks again to Heaven Gifts for the opportunity to choose a yellow mod) and a second sticker with a serial number and a code for originality, which can be checked on the manufacturer’s website. e-liquids in australia The usual manufacturer’s details, links, warnings and pictograms are also in their rightful place.

In addition to the standard set of waste paper and a short cord (only 30 cm – tears!) in a fabric braid for charging the device, a big surprise was the Russian translation among eight languages in the instructions. Yes, it is funny in places and clearly has a machine nature, but it is quite possible to understand the purchase management.
The device case is made of plastic, on the manufacturer’s website the material is listed as Nylonfibre Frame (made of nylon), due to its use the box mod is very light, but at the same time it does not look or feel fragile, the design is quite massive, the walls and side panels are of good thickness, and the case, although it bends in some places, but only under fairly strong pressure. The device is clearly made by molding (noticeable by small seams on the edges), but outwardly it is very reminiscent of fashionable and expensive devices from 3D printers. However, no one is passing off URUS to us as a printed device, nor is anyone trying to sell it at the appropriate price.
The outer surface has a pleasant rough texture, on the yellow case it gets dirty as expected, but it is quite easy to wipe off. Since in my case the box mod is yellow, in some places the darker magnets show through a little, which may not be to everyone’s taste. The panel on the front side is decorated with a slot in the form of four letters URUS, and on the back side there is a deep relief of the device logo with a stylized image of the very tour that gave the name to the device.
Hugo Vapor currently releases its box mod in four colors: yellow (I would call it lemon, as in this review), red, black and purple. In all cases, the buttons are black, only the color of the case changes.

Impressions and conclusions
Hugo Vapor URUS and 20700 batteryThe main advantage (and for some, perhaps, a disadvantage) is the plastic case and the low weight of the device. Yes, the dimensions of the mod are far from “pico”, but it is actually very light and relatively small. The response on Fire is instantaneous, there is no delay, there are no problems with the declared resistance of 0.06 Ohm either, the main thing is that your battery is capable of delivering all the current that the board will pull from it. But, unfortunately, at very low windings, the device still happily produces Too Hot. True, this happens after ten fairly long puffs, and at 0.06 Ohm on the Petri RDA, i.e. the device and atomizer actually become very hot. I have never encountered such a problem on cigarette tanks, as well as in a calmer vaping mode, like “three or four puffs – put the setup aside for a couple of minutes.” Honestly, I don’t see this as a tragedy, the board is simply trying to protect itself and the battery from damage, which is quite logical.
Liked:
Nice appearance (especially yellow)
Fast response
Low weight with a fairly strong design
Good build quality and fit of removable panels
Supported battery formats: 18650 / 20700 /21700
Large stroke of the positive pin of the connector
Resistance support from 0.06 Ohm
Maximum current 45A
Pre-heat setting in the form of correction, and not rigid power values
Disliked:
The 20700 battery dangles a little inside
Stealth mode crashes
No passtrough mode
Does not pull the promised current of 1A when charging
In my opinion, the device turned out to be quite good. Yes, a single-battery mod is weakly suited for the use of sub-ohm atomizers, but today, with the support of 20700/21700, this rule is no longer so relevant; the new battery format allows you to hold out no worse than mechanical mods and at the same time not drop the voltage on the bank below the critical value, after which you will not be able to charge it.
