Review of SXmini SL Class V2 Box Mod

The device is packaged in a typical for SXmini products (and Pioneer4You, for that matter) rectangular box with a big warning about the harm of nicotine (although there is not a single gram inside) and a picture of the device on the front side. On the back you can find a list of the poor kit, various informational and warning pictograms and advice to keep the contents away from children. On the side there is a sticker with the device name, its color design, production date and serial number. The serial number printed here coincides with the one engraved on the body of the mod – a great rarity for modern vape devices, which are stamped in millions.

Besides the device itself and a thick meter-long USB Type-C cable (an unprecedented luxury!) in the kit (in the same envelope) you can find a manual with illustrations in English (you can also download it on the manufacturer’s website), and a warranty on a thick cardboard with the serial number of your copy.

The look of the SL/ML/MX Class devices is familiar to fans and enthusiasts of SXmini products – they are classic single-cell mods with a threaded battery cover at the bottom. Due to its compactness (in fact, it is a battery compartment with a small “outgrowth”, where the board, screen and controls are placed) the format was very popular for a long time. And it remains so until now, as many such mods were (and still are) produced by different manufacturers, both convenient and cute, and frankly unsuccessful.

The device turned out to be not only very beautiful, but also comfortable, despite the decent, but not excessive weight, and the possibility of using “big” batteries. The mod fits perfectly in the hand, and the texture of the materials allows you to hold the set-up securely. There are no complaints about the ergonomics of the device, nothing protrudes anywhere, does not interfere with the palm of your hand, and your finger precisely rests on the Fire.

The manufacturer made a special emphasis on the finish and appearance of the SL Class V2: the front part of the case, where the controls and the screen are located, is covered with silver paint and varnish, followed by a gray (apparently, plastic) insert, which shimmers with mother-of-pearl in the sun, and the back, matte and rough to the touch side, the “handle”, where there is an overlay, a nameplate with the company’s brand (it protrudes, but does not interfere with the hand), can already have a different design.

Here on the body is absolutely the same pattern, and it is also embossed, thanks to which the whole mod does not make the slightest attempt to slip out of your hands despite the abundance of lacquer and gloss on other parts. And, importantly, the engraving is shallow, i.e. it will not cling and collect fine dust and dirt. So all this beauty will not have to clean.

You can buy the SL Class V2 without engravings on the handle, the manufacturer provides a choice of Gun Metal Tang in addition to the Gun Metal Tang presented in the review, and five devices without a pattern – Fire Red, Holy Silver, Black Silver, Mystic Gray and Cooper Brown. There’s an image of something cosmically beautiful wandering around somewhere on the internets, but there’s no such variant on the manufacturer’s website.
